The Don Juan Coffee Tour is a chance to experience first hand the tradition that is the growing of coffee in Costa Rica. The farm has a typical ox-drawn cart that you can take a ride in. The Tour lasts two hours and involves a half kilometers walk along an easy trail.
Our very first tour was on 2006, and nowadays has been 16 years of experience on coffee plantations and tours! Currently Don Juan always makes sure to be around to meet the visitors.
The History of Coffee Tour Don Juan dates back to when Don Juan Cruz was born in the year of 1937, he was one of the first pioneering farming families that arrived to the Monteverde area.
Who is Don Francisco? Our coffee is named after our family’s patriarch Francisco Gaviña, or Don Francisco. From growing up on the family coffee farm in Cuba, to starting the coffee roastery here in Los Angeles that we still operate today, Don Francisco was obsessed with quality and delivering the best cup of coffee possible.
